Choice of a construction site for individual house-building
It is necessary under cottage there was no tectonic zone. For this purpose the construction site is researched by SSP method. All site is investigated by a grid of profiles, and on form of received SSP-sections come to light:
а) zones with the lowered bearing capacity of a soil are caused by tectonic failures;
б) floating earth (karsts), if they are.
On the basis of the received information on the plan of a surveyed site may be marked:
- zone unsuitable for construction. It is a zone with the lowered bearing capacity of a soil. Result of construction within of these zones is the increased deformations of a foundation under a cottage. Not less important is that these zones are simultaneously and geopathogenic zones, the long presence in which is harmful to the man.
- zone suitable for construction. It is a zone with normal (standard) bearing capacity of a soil.
Investigation of site building diagram
An example is figure with the plan of the surveyed private site of building near station "Oselki" (Leningrad area). On the plan are all SSP-profiles, points of their binding, and also the zone, suitable for construction (is designated by a green dotted line) and the zones unsuitable for construction (are designated by a red dotted line). In the given concrete case the area of a zone, suitable for construction, has appeared quite sufficient for accommodation of an apartment house, bath-house and summer kitchen. The second stage at inspection of a site was a prospecting of place under well-boring for water (more in detail about prospecting for water in Examples 22, 23).
